The White House and a top U.S. health agency are not saying whether they’re considering a change to masking guidance amid an increase in COVID-19 cases across the country. Dr. Rochelle Walensky, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) director, twice declined to say whether the agency was mulling a change. As of now, the recommendations are the same, she told reporters in a virtual briefing on Thursday. “We are always looking at the data as the data come in,” Walensky said.
