Commentary On Dec. 17, news broke that U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri, Jeffrey Jensen, had resigned and was leaving the Department of Justice (DOJ) to go into private practice. Jensen had been in the national news several times this year due to playing a pivotal role in the retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn case. It was Jensen working as a special investigator supposedly on behalf of Attorney General William Barr and the DOJ—more on that in a minute—who found the explosive documents that directly led to the DOJ’s filing to dismiss the case against Flynn in May.
