Western Australia (WA) has become the first jurisdiction in Australia to mandate a third COVID-19 booster shot for its workers. The state was one of the first to implement sweeping vaccination mandates, with 75 percent of WA’s workforce—more than one million workers—needing to be double dosed by February next year. Those workers will now be required to get a booster shot five months after their second dose after the official health advice reduced the time frame down from six months. The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has approved both Pfizer and Moderna as eligible vaccines for the third dose.
