Right now, in regard to the Second Amendment, there are two very strong forces moving in exactly opposite directions. On the one hand, over half of the states in America allow for constitutional carry—meaning that people can conceal carry their firearms without a permit.
On the other hand, the federal government is using its bureaucratic authority to reclassify certain gun parts as being illegal—and then sending out agents to go door to door to confiscate these so-called illegal guns.
Last month, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed into law a new bill called House Bill 543, a constitutional carry law. What it does in practice is strengthens the Second Amendment rights of people living in the state by allowing them to carry concealed weapons without a government-issued permit. Basically, as long as you are a legal gun owner, you are now allowed to conceal carry within the state—with the idea being that such a right is bestowed upon you by the Constitution itself….
