LOS ANGELES —A man suspected of fatally shooting a security guard at an upscale off-campus student housing complex near the University of Southern California (USC) is in police custody Dec. 28.
The shooting was reported just before 12:47 a.m. at 23rd and Flower streets approximately half a mile from USC. Upon their arrival, Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officers found the security officer suffering from gunshot wounds, LAPD Officer Rosario Cervantes told City News Service.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
