Seventeen players from Southern California, including five from Orange County, have been selected to participate in USA Baseball’s 16-and-under and 17-and-under national team development program July 26–29 in Cary, North Carolina.
Players from across the country, 72 in all, will take part in intrasquad games, skill-development sessions, and off-field educational seminars while connecting with USA Baseball coaches and staff to prepare for potential national-team opportunities.
Twenty players from California will participate, marking the most from any state. Texas is next with 17.
“Our task force has worked hard this summer to identify the best fits for this program, and we are extremely excited to work with these outstanding athletes,” USA Baseball Director of Player Development Jim Koerner said in making the announcement. “We look forward to continuing the development of these players as the program continues to serve as an important piece of the gold-medal process.”…
