The U.S. State Department on Feb. 27 said American citizens should consider leaving Russia immediately as airlines cancel flights from the country amid the Russia–Ukraine war. “An increasing number of airlines are cancelling flights into and out of Russia, and numerous countries have closed their airspace to Russian airlines,” the agency said in a security alert. “U.S. citizens should consider departing Russia immediately via commercial options still available,” it added.
