The UN human rights chief is making a visit to China in May, including to Xinjiang where 1 million Uyghurs are held in mass detention. The United States and almost 200 rights groups around the world have expressed concern that a Beijing-surveilled trip would undermine the credibility of the investigation and whitewash the regime’s human rights violations.
