An Arizona county’s refusal to certify the results of the Nov. 8 election could possibly cost Republicans a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives, although one supervisor said it likely won’t come to that.
As of Thursday, Cochise County has not yet certified its results, drawing a lawsuit from Secretary of State and Democrat gubernatorial candidate Katie Hobbs. On Monday, the board of supervisors voted 2–1 against certifying the results as one member said it was to protest against reported voting issues in Maricopa County.
The board said it would hold a second meeting to vote on certification on Friday morning and discuss election issues. It’s not clear what would happen if it does not certify the Nov. 8 results, although it’s likely the courts would then step in….
