The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has relaxed its warning against going on cruises but is still suggesting people avoid travel on cruise ships unless they’ve been vaccinated against the virus that causes COVID-19. The agency lowered its alert level from the highest, or “very high,” down a notch on June 16. It is advising only people who are fully vaccinated against the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus, which causes COVID-19, go on a cruise. “CDC recommends that people who are not fully vaccinated avoid travel on cruise ships, including river cruises, worldwide,” the agency said in its updated guidance. “Since the virus spreads more easily between people in close quarters aboard ships, the chance of getting COVID-19 on cruise ships is high.
