Rob Natelson’s articles on the U.S. Constitution have been very enlightening. It would be pleasing if he would expound on two items: The executive order has been used by all presidents since George Washington. What authorizes the use of this dictatorial device? The 14th Amendment states, “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States.” Is a child born to a woman who crosses the border only for the purpose of childbirth subject to the jurisdiction of the United States or to the country of origin of the mother? And if subject to the mother’s country, does this not prevent him from having U.S. citizenship? Paul Nielsen Florida
