The UK has further relaxed its COVID-19 travel restrictions, bringing its travel “red list” down to just seven destinations. From 0300 GMT on Oct. 11, 47 countries and territories including South Africa, Mexico, and Thailand will be removed from the red list, the government confirmed on Thursday. Passengers returning to England from these destinations will no longer be required to spend 11 nights in a quarantine hotel at a cost of £2,285 ($3,110) for solo travellers. Only seven countries—Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Haiti, Panama, Peru, and Venezuela—still remain on the red list. The devolved administrations in Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland set their own travel rules but have recently mirrored announcements made in Westminster.
