The United Kingdom and Ukraine have signed a trilateral agreement with a British defence industry partner to enhance Ukraine’s naval capabilities. It includes new ships, armaments, and the training of Ukrainian Navy personnel. The UK’s Minister for Defence Procurement Jeremy Quin and First Sea Lord Admiral Sir Tony Radakin signed the Memorandum of Implementation (MOI) onboard the British destroyer HMS Defender on Wednesday with Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Defence Oleksandr Myroniuk and the CEO of London-based aerospace, defence, and nuclear engineering services company Babcock. HMS Defender was visiting the Uranian port of Odesa as part of the UK’s Carrier Strike Group deployment. A trilateral exercise between the UK, Ukraine, and the United States also took place on board the ship.
