British police launched an investigation on Monday after a pro-democracy Hong Kong protester was dragged onto the grounds of the Chinese consulate in Manchester and beaten on Sunday.
The protester, identified only as Bob, said he was trying to stop consulate staff from taking a poster he was holding when he was dragged into the compound and beaten by around seven to eight men.
Bob was then rescued by a police officer at the scene.
Downing Street said the incident is “extremely concerning.”
In a statement published on Monday, the Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed the men who assaulted Bob had come out of the Chinese consulate….
