After initially saying that the CSIS information on Chinese regime threats to MPs never left the spy agency, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau clarified on May 5 that it never made it to him.
Trudeau, while attending the Liberal Party convention in Ottawa, was asked by reporters to react to information shared by Conservative MP Michael Chong the previous day.
Chong told the House of Commons that he had received a call from Trudeau’s National Security and Intelligence Adviser (NSIA) Jody Thomas, telling him that the 2021 assessment from the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) on Chinese regime interference had been shared with departments, including with her office in the Privy Council Office (PCO)….
