A Missouri transgender clinic says it will continue to prescribe puberty blockers and hormones to gender-distressed youths, turning down the state attorney general’s request as investigations of a whistleblower’s complaint continue.
In a letter sent to Attorney General Andrew Bailey, leaders at The Washington University Transgender Center at St. Louis Children’s Hospital said the center is “the only place in the entire state of Missouri where transgender youth can access the care they need to ensure their mental and physical well-being.”
“Therefore, we cannot institute a moratorium that would deny critical, standards-based care to current and new patients,” the letter said….
