Tory MP Michelle Rempel Garner is joining Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown as the national campaign co-chair for his bid to become the next leader of the Conservative Party. In a statement issued Saturday, Brown said Rempel Garner, who represents the riding of Calgary Nose Hill, is “Western Canada’s strongest champion.” Rempel Garner has held prominent roles in the Tory shadow cabinet. Prior to her current role as a member of the National Security and Intelligence Committee of Parliamentarians, she had been shadow minister for natural resources, shadow minister for health, shadow minister for industry and economic development, and shadow minister for immigration, refugees, and citizenship.
