Commentary The ongoing belligerence of the Chinese regime, including the intimidation of Taiwan, violates the spirit and intent of the Three Communiques. No treaties or even diplomatic agreements of lesser forms last forever—particularly when existential threats to nations evolve over time through miscalculations, technology advances, and/or the changing course of human events.
