Characterized by symptoms including memory loss and hindered judgment, dementia is a common condition that can affect daily functioning lasting for years or the remainder of a lifetime.
Once considered primarily an ailment of the elderly, many people diagnosed with dementia are under the age of 65. Fortunately, there are ways to improve our cognitive function.
A 2022 study published in Translational Psychiatry, a sister publication of the scientific journal Nature, showed that drinking tea can inhibit or slow down the aging of the brain and improve cognitive dysfunction.
From 2006 to 2010, a team comprising the neurology researchers of Fudan University-affiliated Huashan Hospital, and the Department of Neurology of Qingdao University-affiliated Qingdao Municipal Hospital conducted a survey in the U.K. The study found that, compared with non-tea drinkers, people who favored tea drinks achieved a 16 percent lower overall risk of dementia….
