The U.S. Department of State said it cannot confirm whether six planes holding American citizens are being held hostage by the Taliban in a northern Afghanistan city. Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas), the top Republican on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, told Fox News on Sunday that the planes are being “held hostage for demands right now,” although he did not provide many details.
