ORANGE, Calif.—Providence St. Joseph Hospital hosted a colon cancer awareness event March 24 featuring a giant inflatable colon that displayed the textures of various cancers that affect the organ.
As colorectal cancer is the second most common type of cancer death in the United States, the hospital recommends people 45 years and older get a colon cancer screening.
“Get screened!” signs around the event encouraged. “Colon Cancer is preventable.”
March is National Colon Cancer Awareness month in the United States. Current statistics show that 1 in 20 Americans now face risk of acquiring colon cancer.
To schedule a screening at Providence St. Joseph Hospital, call 714-734-6207….
