LAS VEGAS—Classical Chinese dance can be described as the root of many other dance forms and has even influenced ballet. Sydney Freggiaro, who was formerly a dancer and now a doctor, found that Shen Yun Performing Arts opened her eyes to how much classical Chinese dance had influenced her own dancing without actually being aware of it. “They were incredible. I would say I had no idea how much conventional dance had borrowed from traditional Chinese dance so I really appreciated the history. … And I had no idea the rich history that we were borrowing from China,” Ms. Freggario said.
