NEW YORK—Shen Yun Performing Arts has since 2006 taken the mission of reviving 5,000 years of civilization. It was a divinely inspired culture that was nearly destroyed by communism, and one audiences around the world say is more universal than not.
“This is an expression of humankind,” said Carlos Lopez, a business owner, after the matinee performance at Lincoln Center on April 9.
“We are a mix between spirituality and reality. I’m very honored to be here. It’s a blessing for me to see the show, the performance, the colors, the ladies are beautiful, the men are very flexible, very strong. It’s wonderful. It’s a present for the world. Around me, there are a lot of people celebrating happy birthdays. They are around me. I would say it’s an expression of culture and love for humankind.”…
