TUCSON, Ariz.—Music teacher Mary O’Neil and her husband Gene, a pilot and a marketing professional, attended Shen Yun’s evening show at the Linda Rondstadt Music Hall on Feb. 11. The couple was stunned by the beauty and the spirit of the performance.
A musician herself, Mrs. O’Neil thought Shen Yun’s music was truly divine. “I loved the blend of the East and the West. The [two-stringed erhu] was just out of this world. It’s just so etheric, it brings heaven to earth.”
According to its website, Shen Yun’s orchestra is the first in the world to permanently combine classical Western and Chinese instruments. Seamlessly blending traditional Eastern melodies with powerful Western orchestration, Shen Yun’s music has won the praise of musicians and critics worldwide….
