PORTLAND, Ore.—Account executive Ryan Hildenbrand and his wife Jenna purchased tickets for Shen Yun Performing Arts after seeing an ad in Epoch Times. Walking out of the Keller Auditorium on the evening of Jan. 20, the couple was touched by Shen Yun’s portrayal of traditional Chinese culture.
“There was definitely a spiritual component [in the performance] that I wasn’t expecting. It was really cool to see,” said Mr. Hildenbrand. “I’ve never been to China but I think it’s really important to understand their history. I didn’t realize [there would be so much] history showing tonight.”
For 5,000 years, Chinese citizens were very spiritual and had a deep belief in the divine. In fact, almost every aspect of Chinese life was governed by the teachings of Buddhism, Confucianism, and Taoism….
