The home of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s (R-Ky.) in Louisville, Kentucky, was found vandalized on Jan. 2. Spray paint on the front door read, “Weres [sic] my money,” while “Mitch Kills the Poor” was scrawled over a window. The messages likely refer to the Senate’s failure to approve an increase in the amount of money being sent to individuals to help cope with the coronavirus pandemic, from $600 to $2,000. “I’ve spent my career fighting for the First Amendment and defending peaceful protest.
