The U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee held a hearing on Jan. 26 entitled “Countering Russian Aggression: Ukraine and Beyond.”
The two-hour hearing featured testimony from Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland, USAID Assistant Administrator for Europe and Eurasia Erin McKee, and Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs Celeste Wallander.
During the hearing, the three officials answered committee members’ questions about a broad range of topics pertaining to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, now in its 12th month.
Some of the more salient topics included Washington’s recent decision to provide Kyiv with American-made Abrams tanks, U.S. sanctions on Russia’s Wagner Group, and this week’s dismissal of high-ranking Ukrainian officials amid corruption allegations….
