Holyrood voted on Thursday to support the implementation of COVID-19 vaccine passports in Scotland’s nightclubs and other crowded venues. With the backing of the Greens, the SNP government was able to push through its motion with 68 votes to 55 following a heated debate. It means that from Oct. 1, all adults, with a few exemptions, will have to prove they are fully vaccinated to enter nightclubs, sexual entertainment venues, indoors unseated live events with more than 500 audience members, outdoor unseated live events with more than 4,000 audience members, and other events with more than 10,000 audience members. Participants in vaccine trials, those who are medically exempt from getting the vaccines, and employees of the venues are exempt from the vaccine mandate.
