The House of Commons public safety committee will undertake a study of the mass killing which took place on James Smith Cree First Nation in Saskatchewan earlier this month, says Conservative MP Raquel Dancho.
“Many questions surrounding this horrific tragedy remain unanswered,” wrote Dancho in a Sept. 22 statement.
“Our goal is to examine the decisions of the courts, the parole board, and Corrections Canada to repeatedly release the perpetrator from custody despite his 59 previous criminal convictions, including assault, assault with a weapon, uttering threats, assaulting a police officer, and robbery.”
