Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) announced on May 17 that she has introduced articles of impeachment against U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland for “facilitating the weaponization and politicization of the United States justice system against the American people.”
In the impeachment articles, Greene cited multiple issues including the FBI getting involved in the affairs of parents concerned about their children’s education, pro-life centers getting attacked, intimidating protests outside the homes of Supreme Court justices, and going after former President Donald Trump.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) came under fire in 2021 for inserting itself in the affairs of parents furious over school policies ranging from COVID to far-left curricula including critical race theory. An Oct. 4, 2021, memorandum from Garland instructed the FBI and the U.S. Attorney’s Offices to convene meetings with federal, state, local, Tribal, and territorial leaders in each federal judicial district” in order to “facilitate the discussion of strategies for addressing threats against school administrators, board members, teachers, and staff” so that there are “open dedicated lines of communication for threat reporting, assessment, and response.”…
