COSTA MESA, Calif.—“Oh my gosh,” said Laura Hoffman, after watching the premier Chinese classical dance and music performance, Shen Yun Performing Arts.
Ms. Hoffman, a professor of art and photography, was excited to see Shen Yun at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts. She had waited three years as the performance had been canceled twice due to the pandemic.
“The color—I’m left with the harmony of color and the storytelling. But what really impressed me was the choreography … or combining the background [which floats] into the stage and it was seamless,” Ms. Hoffman said.
“I found [Shen Yun] very energetic, uplifting, and absolutely entertaining,” she said.
