The founder and the president of a pro-Beijing organization in Taiwan has died of COVID-19, the group’s spokesperson confirmed. On June 16, the Patriot Alliance Association (PAA) spokesperson announced on Facebook that the president of the group, Zhou Qingjun, died of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) virus, commonly known as the novel coronavirus, in Taipei. Zhou was confirmed to be infected with the CCP virus a day after the Taipei District Court convicted him of receiving funds from the communist Chinese regime and sentenced him to three and half years in prison on May 2021, according to the CCP mouthpiece Global Times. The prosecutor’s office claimed in 2018 that Zhou always brought a large amount of cash, in Chinese yuan, when he returned from trips to China.
