Power continues to be restored in Ontario following outages caused by heavy snow and strong winds across the province in recent days, says Hydro One.
As of April 17, power has been restored to more than 257,000 customers after consecutive storms brought heavy snow to northern Ontario on April 14 and high winds to other regions across the province on April 15, the company said in a notice on its outage map.
The storm that battered Ontario caused power outages for over 51,000 Hydro One’s customers. Other significant damage includes downed power lines, broken poles, and tees falling on lines. UPDATE: Crews continue to respond to outages affecting the remaining 2,700 customers without power. Some customers in the hardest hit areas of Kingston, Bancroft, Brockville, Perth, Tweed and Minden will be without power overnight. We appreciate everyone’s patience. #ONstorm pic.twitter.com/rsmiWMLYFc
