The Ottawa police arrested a 78-year-old man and gave him a fine for tooting his horn in support of the ongoing truckers’ protest at the nation’s capital. On Feb. 6, Gerry Charlebois drove to the area close to the truckers’ Freedom Convoy protests when he was pulled over by the police at Besserer Street and Friel Street, after giving the truckers “a thumbs-up and a honk.” A video shared on Twitter shows that while Charlebois was retrieving his identification from the back of his vehicle, a police officer twisted his arm, bringing him down to his knees, which cut and bruised him in the process.
