A global alliance is calling on government officials to take a stand against human rights abuses by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) by refusing to attend the upcoming Winter Olympics in Beijing. The campaign, #NoRightsNoShow is led by the Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China (IPAC), an international cross-party alliance of parliamentarians from over 10 democratic nations. IPAC was created to hold the People’s Republic of China (PRC) to international legal and human rights standards and is calling for a full diplomatic boycott of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics scheduled to take place in February 2022.  “The #Beijing2022 Winter Olympics will take place amidst widespread abuses in the Uyghur Region, Tibet and Hong Kong,” IPAC said on Twitter on Nov. 16. “While sport is above politics, this cannot permit turning a blind eye to industrial-scale human rights abuses,” said another post on Nov. 15.
