Literally and figuratively, every vote counts in a Pennsylvania GOP U.S. Senate race that remains too close to call two days after the May 17 primary.
As of May 19 at 3 p.m., Dr. Mehmet Oz held a tiny lead with 417,250 votes (31.16 percent) compared to 415,971 (31.07) for David McCormick, according to Decision Desk HQ.
In the 24 hours between the mornings of May 17 and May 18, more than 20,000 votes were added to the totals. Propelled by mail-in ballots, McCormick gained about 1,500 votes.
Oz’s lead peaked at 2,564 votes, but he saw that advantage decline from around 2,700 votes to approximately 1,200 as mail-in ballots that can’t be tallied before election day were added to the results….
