The federal government says it will suspend random COVID-19 testing at airports for vaccinated travellers until the end of the month.
The development comes as airports and industry groups had asked for the program to be ended. Airports and airlines have said they are dealing with significant congestion due to the various COVID-19 travel mandates, leading to long waits for travellers.
“The Government of Canada recognizes the impact that significant wait times at some Canadian airports are having on travellers. We continue to work with airports, airlines, baggage handlers, and other partners to implement solutions to reduce delays as we approach the summer peak season,” Transport Canada said in a statement on June 10….
