Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer is receiving a $43,000 pay raise following approval April 11 from the county Board of Supervisors.
His annual salary will now be $353,236 and $531,477 including benefits.
The pay increase is effective April 21.
According to County Counsel Leon Page, the raise will now match Spitzer’s salary to that of the San Diego District Attorney, but remains over $30,000 less than his counterpart in Los Angeles.
Orange County CEO Frank Kim told City News Service April 12 that Spitzer pointed out to officials that he was making less than others in the same position in surrounding counties.
“For elected officials we do market studies, and when we see large discrepancies in the market we look at the large urban counties and do a comparison of salaries,” Kim said….
