Orange County will provide up to $150,000 to aid some victims of a series of shooting at half a dozen 7-Eleven stores across Southern California on July 11—affecting three cities in the county—leaving three dead and three injured.
The county Board of Supervisors unanimously voted on July 19 to use money from the discretionary budgets of the county districts where attacked stores are located to create a relief fund to help pay for medical bills and funeral expenses.
“It’s scary when you think about the fact that these are neighborhood stores. You might go there for a cup of coffee or a quart of milk,” Supervisor Doug Chaffee said during the meeting. “Our hearts go out to the victims’ [families] for their loss.”…
