One person has been confirmed dead, two were taken to hospital, and police are looking for around “a dozen” people thought to be missing following an explosion and fire at a block of flats on Saturday in Jersey, one of the UK’s Crown Dependencies.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday on Haut du Mont Pier Road, St Helier on the south of the island. Photographs shared online show smoke billowing above the blaze.
