The now-former police officer who fatally shot a 20-year-old man in Minnesota on Sunday will face a second-degree manslaughter charge. Kimberly Potter was arrested at approximately 11:30 a.m. Wednesday and will be booked into the Hennepin County Jail on a 2nd-degree manslaughter charge, according to the the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA). The Washington County Attorney’s Office was expected to file the charge later Wednesday. Pete Orput, the Washington County attorney, did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Potter’s shooting of Daunte Wright took place in Brooklyn Center in Hennepin County, but the case was referred to Orput to avoid the appearance of a conflict of interest, KTSP reported.
