A college in North Carolina went into “immediate lockdown” following an active shooter warning and lifted the lockdown hours later on Tuesday.
In a security notice labeled as “extreme,” the Southwestern Community College in North Carolina had instructed its students and faculty at the Jackson Campus to go into an immediate lockdown Tuesday at 10:24 a.m. due to an “active shooter situation” near the campus.
The college instructed faculty “to secure students in the building and lock classroom doors, staff “to secure work areas and lock office and suite door,” and “not unlock doors or allow entry until cleared by administration or law enforcement.”…
