Foreign Affairs Minister Marc Garneau says he doesn’t know when the Canada-U.S. border will re-open to its pre-pandemic state. “I don’t know if my crystal ball is any better than yours,” Garneau told Liberal MP Sherry Romanado, who asked the minister if the border would open before the end of summer during his testimony before the Commons Committee for Canada-U.S. Relations Thursday. “We’re hearing from our stakeholders, and of course, from industry as well. We have to look at all of the information that we have and make the right decision for Canadians.” Garneau cited the example of U.S. Rep. Brian Higgins (D-N.Y.) who has been advocating for the border to re-open.
