The United States and European Union (EU) agreed on Sep. 29 to deepen transatlantic cooperation to solve a variety of trade disputes and key technology areas. Analysts say it is an “inevitable step” in confronting the Chinese regime’s “hegemony.” It marks the first meeting of the newly-established U.S.-EU Trade and Technology Council (TTC) after President Joe Biden launched the group at the Group of Seven summit in England in June. “We stand together in continuing to protect our businesses, consumers, and workers from unfair trade practices, in particular those posed by non-market economies, that are undermining the world trading system,” according to the statement released on Sept. 29 after the first day meeting in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
