The United States and 11 members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) have begun large-scale navy exercises this week in the eastern Mediterranean Sea in a crisis-response exercise dubbed “Dynamic Mariner.”
According to a statement from officials, Dynamic Mariner is “held in conjunction with the Turkish Navy’s Exercise Mavi Balina, which brings together 12 Allied nations off the coast of Türkiye.” The exercise will run from Sept. 11 to Sept. 22.
It is being led by NATO Allied Maritime Command (MARCOM) and aims to “test and demonstrate NATO’s Response Force Maritime Component (NRF/M) and interoperability between NATO forces, enhancing flexibility” while also “improving the ability to work together among Allied nations.”…
