The reaction in the mainstream media to the confirmation of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court may have been a little over the top. Politico initially celebrated that Jackson would be the “first black Supreme Court justice” before issuing a correction. (Apparently they forgot about Clarence Thomas and Thurgood Marshall.) It was also said that this was a historic event, but this “historic” label only seems to be used for liberal individuals.
