The male who set himself on fire in front of the U.S. Supreme Court has died, the Metropolitan Police said on Saturday.
Authorities identified the man as 50-year-old Wynn Bruce from Boulder, Colorado, and said he died from the injuries after he set himself on fire.
A police report shows Wynn lit himself on fire in front of the Supreme Court around 6:30 p.m. on Friday. He was airlifted to a local hospital after the incident.
Supreme Court spokesperson Patricia McCabe said in a statement to outlets that the event took place on the plaza in front of the Supreme Court building.
