VISTA, Calif.—An argument between two neighbors in Vista escalated into a shooting on July 5 that left one of the men dead and the other under arrest on suspicion of murder.
Deputies responding to a report of an assault with a firearm found Juan Valdovinos, 37, suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper torso in the 100 block of Camino Corto, near Vista Village Drive, about 11:30 a.m., according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
Paramedics took Valdovinos to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Lt. Joseph Jarjura said.
Witnesses reported that the victim and the suspected shooter, 32-year-old Jose Gonzalez, were arguing outside their homes when the gunfire erupted. Deputies soon found Gonzalez in the area, confiscated a gun from him, and took him into custody….
