A majority of Canadians say it’s time to end all COVID-19 restrictions and allow people to manage their own level of risk, a new Angus Reid poll shows. Published on Jan. 31, the survey shows that 54 percent of Canadians are in favour of ending the pandemic restrictions—an increase of 15 percentage points from a similar poll conducted earlier this month that showed 40 percent in favour. The sentiments are shared across almost every region in the country, with at least 51 percent saying it’s time now to open things up and let people self-isolate if they’re at risk. Among the regions that agree with the idea, Saskatchewan was the highest at 62 percent. Quebec followed closely at 59 percent, followed by Alberta and Ontario at 57 percent and 54 percent respectively.
