Nearly 75 percent of likely voters polled believe that President Joe Biden should issue similar sanctions on the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) as he has on Russia, if the CCP chooses to provide aid to Russia. The poll follows allegations by the U.S. State Department that CCP leadership was mulling a request for economic and military aid from Russia following the latter’s mismanagement of its invasion of Ukraine. Both China and Russia have denied the report. Biden recently met virtually with CCP General Secretary Xi Jinping and said that China would face “consequences” if it delivered aid to Russia, but declined at the time to explicate what those consequences would be. Last week, leadership from across the 30 member nations of the NATO alliance also condemned Russia and formally called on the CCP not to provide such aid.
